Is it bad to put food right out of the oven into the fridge? My baby wakes up in the middle of the night to come to bed w/ me..

I am pretty damn sure you should never put hot food straight from the oven into the fridge, no way, you should always cover it until it is cold then refrigerate. Unless you want to eat contaminated food! And what has your question about food got to do with your baby wanting to share your bed?

I had to put the food away to go to bed or else let it sit out till morn.

Why are you so mean?

I'm not mean at all, I just couldn't relate the two together, hot food- baby? Sorry if I upset you, I certainly didn't mean to! :)

Evansmommy..it was just the way you structured your sentence. It was confusing!

Sorry about that, I really do apologise to you! I have not been very well for 2 weeks now with chronic bronchitis and a bowel infection, I have been a bit 'snappy' cos it's gone on too long but I absolutely should never have let it show in my answer to you, please forgive me! Also for your own sake and that of your family don't ever put hot food straight in the fridge, it really will taste different and you could end up with food poisoning, thank you for alerting me to my non-intended bad manners!

If you put hot glass in a gold fridge it can shatter. Food itself doesn't matter a lot, but it may taste as good.

I put it in plastic container first. It really taste diff?

It can, depending on what it is. The texture changes based on how fast it cools. I guess the texture isn't the same as taste, but I usually put the two together in my mind when eating.

Hot food will warm up the other contents in the refrigerator possibly bringing them to unsafe temperature levels. It is best to let the food cool. Less work for the fridge.
