Turkey mites are not really mites at all. They are instead the larval stage of the Lone Star tick. Getting rid of them is quite simple. Buy a bottle of lice shampoo. Take a shower and wash the affected areas with soap and water. Rub the shampoo into any red, itchy areas. Continue this treatment for 3 days and be sure to wash any clothing and bedding that may have come into contact with those areas.
The turkey mites are the earlier stages of ticks and the best way to get rid of them is to use specialized solutions such as lice shampoos and lotions that can not only alleviate the itching but also eliminate the mites or ticks for good.
