I'm very sorry, for all the times, I've gone into court, over minor traffic violations and plead guilty, just cause, and paid the fine, just cause. Now that I am in my thirties, "a fully grown up, grown up," I'm definitely of the belief that the USA, tickets, jails, arrests, and prosecutes way too much. Go ahead, plead, "not guilty," see what happens. Iirc, I did plead not guilty, to one ticket in St Lucie FL, and on my second court date there, the ticket was dismissed. I'm not a bad, or reckless driver, or person. I just think, that as a society, we are arresting, prosecuting, and jailing too much. Lol I could write a novel trying to answer your question...
If you are guilty of speeding it is better to pay it but if you feel you are not, then you can fight it. For you to fight it, first you need to check the box that is on the ticket that says you want your hearing, and then mail the ticket to the court. Ensure to write down the court date on the ticket first. Find out more details on http://www.ehow.com/how_4479827_fight-speeding-ticket.html.
If you were speeding then I would say just pay it. It will cost money and time trying to fight it. Probably more than the ticket is worth. You can always take a defensive driving course to get it taken off your record.
Think it depends on the State you live in.Here in Michigan out car insurance rates go up the more points we have.If you do deside to fight it,they'll most likely have you pay a bigger fine with no points.I would fight it,but that's just my opinion.Good luck
