That's very hard to do unless your a professional. Even then, you still need teachers to monitor your technique. You would probably need a barre, but I think you would hurt yourself more than help. Try just doing some ankle strengthening exercises.
You do need a barre, but you can improvise by using the back of a chair. I've even used the edge of my kitchen cabinets, which was a good height for me. There are DVDs available to teach you some basics.
