Should I tell the teacher that everybody (including me) gets the answers for the homework on line?

there's a specific way of getting the answers online, I want to tell the teacher but in a way that I won't get caught, I feel like typing it explaining how to get the answers and just leaving It on his desk. I just feel guilty and I feel like I'm not learning anything, or anyone else

NO. if you don't feel comfortable getting the answers online, then DON'T. But don't ruin it for everyone else!! it's their choice whether or not they wanna do that. I may get some hate here, telling me cheating is wrong, which it is, but this is not life threateningly dangerous or anything so just leave it up to them.

I agree with you MorbidlyCurious, after all does not a teacher use the "teachers edition" and even though some questions may sound like homework questions, they may not all be home work q´s, and some people just don't give a rap about some of the subjects they teach in school, because a students stronghold may not be that particular subject, and my final argument is this, taking the answers to a test is cheating, using them for home work isn't

It may even actually be helping students do better in tests, they have the answers from ask, they answer them later on a test, the idea is that they use their memory and knowledge on the test, homework is an assignment of "gathering answers" the problem with people is that they get all legalistic and bureaucratic to the point where they "miss the point"

If it doesn't end up working that way then just leave it because" cheaters never prosper

Read what blackjack said. Plus, getting the answers to a few homework problems isn't going to make them fail in life. Sure, they should be learning a better work ethic, but they can do that high school and college. It's not a big deal.

No, because that would be wrong to tell here! When you get answers ONLINE you never tell the teacher, but if you think so then you should. =D

To ease your guilt, stop getting the answers online, and study instead. Don't worry about what others are doing, just hold your head high, stick your chest out and be proud that you are doing the right thing, and learning something.

The right thing for you to do would be to tell him. If you tell him, he'll credit you rather than someone else telling him and you being in trouble and feeling guilty.

Yes, please do *ruin* it for everybody else because those kids are ruining their education and you'd be helping them in the long run.

If you don't feel comfortable then don't do it. You don't have to ruin it as punish the others. Remember that you are using online answers too so this way you'll get them punished and you might get rewarded for that which isn't fair because you do too. Just don't think of telling.

Yes, but do it anonymously. That way, you won't get in trouble with the teacher or other students, or if it doesn't bother you that you are letting everyone else cheat themselves of learning something in school then don't tell. But just saying, they will regret it later when they can't get any right on tests. make sure that if you tell, explain why it makes you uncomfortable telling and he will probably not punish everyone so harshly.

The problem with that is then your whole class gets in trouble but if you told the teacher might let you off the hook i suggest telling him/her in private and make sure they don't tell the students

It's a moral issue, people are cheating to get ahead and that's not right. I would say something myself. I would write a note and as you walk out and leave it on his/ her desk with no name. You won't get in trouble for identifying this issue. I'm sure they realize something is up when the kids who were doing bad are now doing good along with the other kids. They aren't learning, which school is for.

Uh that would be very dumb to do that. First of all your class mates would probably hate you,Second you would all get in trouble,Third why would you tell her,Fourth even though you want her to not know about it she probably will find out soon,Fifth it is homework which means you can use whatever it is that you need to do to find your answer.

You are most definitely correct. I see many other opinions here, but YOU are correct. By getting the answers online no one is learning anything -- except how to get thru life by cheating. I do think you should get the word to the teacher anonymously. If you can't safely leave a note of explanation where no one else will see it, try mailing a note to the teacher in care of the school, and don't put a return address on the envelope. I commend you for your ethics. You will go far because you aren't expecting something for nothing. That's great!

If it where up to people to individually figure out things on their own we would all still be living in the stone age. I will not bother to further explain this as I have already released what I needed to say below. Besides most people prefer to stick with bureaucracy then with a something that actually works and gives results, the curse of being human :(

Ok define cheating, are you using ask.com for the answers to a test? No you aren't, and whats the idea behind homework? Its an assignment where you have to think questions through and answer questions. Do you remember the answers you get to your questions from ask.com? If you did then its a method of studying, so teachers and parents and the whole education system should be grateful that you can finally remember what you went over in school. Now if you don't remember what you were answered on ask.com and you flunk your test it clearly shows that its impossible to cheat on homework unless you copy of some one right before the assignment is due, there is a difference because by going on ask, you are actually researching for your assignment.

I have given you a very argumentative point of view, where not many may agree with me "those that are too legalistic, bureaucratic, boring, don't think out of the box" group. Don´t you think college students and professor ´s alike use ask.com? Until we have a true genius that actually cares about our comment well being like Jaque Fresno, we will still have to encounter stupid bureaucracy and legalism and poor judgement to the point where we cant even tell right from wrong.

All in all, unless your teacher believes in efficiency, no don't tell her because "right or wrong" you are only opening up a pandoras box of crud.

Excuse me, are you arguing with yourself?

The teacher will figure it out when he gives a test and everyone fails because they never learned how to solve the problems.
