Rodney Mullen invented the ollie, well he perfected it, ollie-ing is when you jump with your board, just incase you're not a skater. Rodney Mullen also invented the kick-flip.. one of the most common tricks among every decent skater kick-flip is when board turn horizontally in a 360. Rodney Mullen did all of this on the old boards, which were flat, NO dip, and had cruddy trucks and wheels, and no bearings...
when he was a kid an entered a skate competition, most people would drop out

rodney mullen invented most the tricks people do today. he has invented more tricks then any one. i counted over 60

There is no recognized inventor of skateboarding, which began as early as the 1930's. Retail skateboards were first marketed in 1958 by Bill and Mark Richard of Dana Point, California.
