Why is my transmission shifting hard? What can i do to fix this? I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix.

I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix with an automatic transmission with 100,000 miles. This will be confusing, but my transmission shifts hard when it wants to. It does not do it every time, but it does it from time to time and when it does this it shifts hard and jerks my car and makes me get bad gas mileage. I have noticed that is does it most often when i have to slam on breaks or speed up really fast. Please help me, what causes this and how can I fix this. I also have warranty, but they will not fix until it is broken. Please help me.

If your transmission is low on fluid, or if the fluid is old, it could be the cause of the hard shifting. Problems with the vacuum lines on an automatic or even manual transmission have also been known to cause hard shifting and so has sensor malfunction. Take the car to a qualified mechanic for proper diagnosis.

I have had my transmission flushed twice. New fluid put in it when i had a seal replaced. They said everything looked good, but they could see a small amount of metal savings in the filter, but that was normal on cars after so many miles.
