One of my students is having difficulty reading, but he is an excellent artist, how can I use his art to help him learn to read?

Take his art and give them a description. Put words under the art and have the student practice reading. Find art books that interest the student and the student could read the words. Many students struggle with reading and are wonderful artists.

He might be dyslexic. A lot of people who are dyslexic are better in the arts because they tend to shy from academics because that's more difficult for them. You should send something home so the parents can have him tested. Reading is very important and everyone needs to know how to read. He might just need extra help and someone who is patient with him.

Is the student not understanding what is the reading about? You have to find out what his struggles are when reading . Before During and After Reading etc...
