Do I really have to wait for 12 hours before I can contribute content to this website again?

I just received this notification."Wow, that's a lot of answers today! You should take a break. You can answer questions again in 12 hours." I was about to answer a question of a young girl who's stuck in the rain and snow, on the side of a highway in Highland Park, Detroit. The positrack rear-end of his '71 Plymouth gave out and my expertise on clunker 70's era vehicles (I personally own a 1975 Dodge Santana) might have gotten her home safely. It was an unfortunate location to break down, considering the crime rate in the neighborhood is five times the national average. Oh well, I suppose she'll have to wait for 12 hours now. After all a user-generated-content based website shouldn't allow it's users to contribute more than a minuscule amount of material for others to use/enjoy.

You were making so many comments the security system thought you were a spam-bot, must sleep.

best way to put it well said!!!

But I'm not. There's an option users can click next to answers to report them as spam/threatening/etc. That's should be the determining factor on penalizing the USERS WHO MAKE THE CONTENT ON THIS WEBSITE rather than a locked system where the more you contribute the sooner you are punished. The current system is hampering this site's growth and development!!!

Well they have loosened up quite a bit on the comment limit since I started. It used to be really small something like 15 questions 30 answers and 40 comments per day and each answer could only have about 8 comments total.

Honestly, reform the system to the users creating content are the jury, and the Administrators can be the judges than can over-turn verdicts or carry them out.

Yes you do have to wait 12 hours to answer anymore questions.

This is a flawed system. I think the website would run more efficiently if an individual was only blocked from answering question if they were marked for spam or inappropriate content.

I didn't know that.

I kinda agree but someone asked something like this before and a mod said something like about how if someone could answer an unlimited amount then they would be "all over"

The man doesn't understand how to run a website that runs off of user generated content. This current system is like owning a department store that sells appliances, but wont restock microwaves or refrigerators for 12 weeks once they have been purchased. Completely illogical.

The mods can't fix it. You should ask someone with REAL authority.
