What does it cost to have fistula surgery? I'm out of work with bad insurance, anxiety over this!!

Had an anal abscess, it was drained, 2 weeks later Im told it may be a fistula now. Concerned over the cost of surgery as I'm out of work with a high deductible. Trying to get a handle on this and the costs, sever anxiety for sure.

You have to call around and ask for prices. I know some OBGYN's do the removal.. So keep in mind that all offices are different thus the price will vary. And some doctors might not perform the surgery in the office and might use an outpatient center for example hospitals and then the hospital has a separate fee for that. When you find a physician that is affordable find out where they do the removal and If it's an outpatient facility call and find out how much they charge

Fistula surgery is usually covered by insurance policies but if yours doesn't cover it, you'll need to discuss fees with the hospital. Fistula surgery is done under general anesthesia so you'll have fees incurred by the anesthesiologist, surgeon, and the hospital.
