If a policeman pulls you over on a dark, deserted road and tells you to get out of the car, do you have to do it?

If you're worried you can slow down, turn on your emergency flashers and, as long as you don't keep going for miles, continue to someplace better. And calling 911 is a great idea, let them know what you're doing and why.

If you're worried, call 911 and tell them of your concerns. They can tell you if it's a real cop or not.

Maybe you should contact your local sheriff's dept and city police to find out their policies on such. You would be wise to be concerned if pulled over in such a place. Bad things have happened to others in the past.

If a uniformed officer in a marked patrol car with proper decals and flashing lights pull you over and asks you to step out of your car then you should step out of your car unless you prefer a face full of mace!
