As a general rule, there IS no way to make yourself go into labor, and your body is the best decision-maker in when a baby should come. The various "techniques" people suggest are pretty much old wives' tales. If your doctor is amenable, you might be able to be induced, but it can be pretty uncomfortable--the drugs they use for it are very powerful, and the process isn't as smooth as the natural way. So, unless you're way past term, it's better to wait for Mother Nature to do her job. (I understand how uncomfortable those last weeks are but, trust me: your baby is never going to be less trouble to you than he (or she) is right now!)
To make yourself go into labor, you may have to do strenuous work or drive on a bumpy road. This will make your blood pressure go up thus triggering labor. However, I recommend that you go to hospital so that doctors can help induce labor there.
I agree with suayres. There is no proven way to really induce yourself. Forcing baby to come before it is ready, even with medical induction, makes labour very long, painful, uncomfortable and puts a lot of stress on baby. Your body and the baby know when it's ready. Unless you have medical issues I would never recommend induction. Enjoy your last bit of freedom before baby comes and takes over your life. Good luck :)
