Agreed! It will cost you more than the speeding ticket was even worth! And the cops testimony will be the gosphel over yours!! Unless you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt you did nothing wrong I wouldn't waste my time!!!
Search for a great lawyer but alsoa cheap one. I got to tickets, speeding and reckless driving. I could have lost my license but the lawyer did work and I only got 2 points on my license and I didnt even have to go to court my lawyer just went.
I have had two speeding tickets, both times I went to court, I didn't get a lawyer I didn't need one. I just asked to have the ticket lowered and no points. Both times the judge lowered the ticket and didn't give me any points. It didn't cost me anymore money either, had to pay $50 for the court hearing and then that money went towards the fine.
Depends on the state, and the judge. the judge I worked for never saw a violator unless they contested the ticket. If you contest a ticket, you should see a county or city attorney and he/she should offer you a "deal". Which in the state of Texas would be defensive driving, if you are eligible. If you decide to take it and complete it within the time frame allowed by law, it is dismissed, "no points". To pay an attorney is not a smart thing to do because you are wasting your money. He will do the same thing you can do and by the time you pay him, you could just pay the ticket. Your chances of winning if it goes to court are slim to none and you HAVE to know how to conduct yourself as an attorney would. The attorney trying the case is going to make you look really stupid, they love to do that. The old saying is something about only a fool represents himself in a court of law. Good luck, hope this has been helpful.
