Is My Dog Too Old to Have Puppies?

Report as

It is possible for a dog to be too old to have puppies. The age can vary depending on the breed of your dog. Both a male and a female dog need to be at least 2 years old before you begin breeding. Eight years old is the absolute maximum age you should consider letting your female dog have puppies. There is an increased risk for complications both to your dog and her puppies if she is too old.
