what does a 5.7 hemoglobin mean?

Report as

The glycated hemoglobin (A1C) test measures the percentage of blood sugar attached to hemoglobin, red blood cells with oxygen-carrying protein. Higher blood sugar levels means more hemoglobin you have with sugar attached. Thus A1C level between 5.7 and 6.4 percent suggests prediabetes. Normal levels should be below 5.7 percent.
