Implantation bleeding ordinarily lasts for between six and twelve days from the day ovulation takes place. It is a normal condition provided the lasting of the bleeding is confined to this time duration because this happens as a result of the egg cell implanting itself in the uterine lining. Nevertheless, if it exceeds beyond this time period, it is advisable to consult the doctor as this could indicate a condition of pregnancy occurring elsewhere other than in the cavity of the uterus (medically termed as ectopic).
Implantation bleeding is different for every woman. Sometimes implantation bleeding only lasts a few days, sometimes it can last longer. IF the bleeding gets heavy at any point, it is important to see your doctor to make sure all is OK.
Their is only a few women that will experience implantation bleeding. Some will just see a spot of blood and that will be it. How long the bleeding will last will depend on the women because every women is different.
