Do Jewish women store their tears in a bottle?

it's believed that the Jewish women store their tears in a bottle and finally after their death that tears are kept in the coffin with them, is it true?

Report as

This is not only true for some Jewish women, but for many other people as well. Tear bottles and tear vases are becoming common gifts at any emotional occasion such as deaths and weddings. It was also a popular tradition for wives who were waiting for husbands to come home from the Civil War, but the origin of this go back to at least ancient Egyptian times. Yes, they are sometimes buried with the coffin, but more often they are kept by the living loved ones as keepsake.

I am sure some Jewish women do it, as do some non Jewish women, but it is not in any way a Jewish custom, tradition or common occurence.

Thank you so much Jason, MJP, and DRoss!
This is one of those wonderful things you learn on Ask and might never have known otherwise.

Do any of you know where to purchase such a gift item?
