Why do my apps keep crashing on my iPod touch 4th gen?

I have an IPod touch 4th generation and I when I open my apps they open for about 5 seconds then crash. is there a way to fix the problem without having to restore my IPod? it only happens with some of my apps not all.

Have you tried:
Shut down the app - double-click home and when the multitasking bar comes up (you'll see 4 apps to view) you hold your finger down on 1 until they wiggle. Then you hit the "-" to shut the app down. This almost ALWAYS helps.

Delete and reinstall - with iCloud, you don't have to pay for any app you've ever downloaded again.

Restarting device - just turn it off, wait and then turn it back on.

Also, try syncing it - can sometimes solve a problem.

There could be a possibility that your iPhone has mal-ware or virus or probably you are trying to run many apps at once. You should consider restarting or resetting your iPhone. You can also basically try updating it on iTunes.

Mine used to do that and then I figured out that it was because they were downloaded from a different iPod onto mine and the app people no longer supported that version of the app because it got too old. This might help :p

I have done all the above and the app still crashed so I did a setting reset this worked until I put my wi-fi settings back in, so I'd try turning your wi-fi of first to see if it cures the problem

My iPod is an iPod 4th Gen running iOS 6.1.3 and it is jailbroken tethered with sn0wbreeze. I had a theme called "iOS 7 complete", by bichko, and it was pretty cool, but it would crash all my games. All I did was deactivate the certain theme and respring using winterboard, and they work now. It might help to anyone who's jailbroken. (So basically turn some themes off)

Apparently, ios closes apps it can't (or thinks it can't) run because of too few RAM available. Double-press the home button and close any still running apps in the background. There are apps that serve to clear up some of your RAM. You will need to do this every once in a while, though.

Clearing disk space will also help - remove any files you don't need/use and try to keep a clean disc in overall.
