What is the size difference between 205/70/15 and 205/60/15 tires?

Here is a simple way to understand tire codes/sizes

The first number is the width in MM of the tire - in your example, 205 = 205 mm wide

The second number is the aspect ratio - the lower the number the lower the tire. Again, measured in MM from the bead to the tread. In your example 70 mm vs 60 mm.

The last number is the tire diameter in inches ( go figure ) and it will also tell you the rim/wheel size. In your example 15 equals 15 inches in diameter, or a 15 inch wheel rim.

The 205/60/15 has a lower profile and a wider footprint.

Actually, the 70 series has a larger footprint, only because it is a larger diameter. The width is identical...205.
