What is a small round black insect that bites and hurts very much?

I was in bed I stretched my arms on the pillow and before my right hand touched it I felt a sharp pain like a needle had stabbed me. It was very painful, the pain spread to my fingers. All I have is a tiny hole, but 2 days later it still itches a lot, it never blistered but when I wash my hands a large area becomes red, and hot water makes it hurt, I have been applying Benadryl as well as taking Benadryl tablets, but the itch remains, especially when I move my hand. When I turned on the lights there was a black, tiny, small round insect on the pillow with, I picked it up with a tissue and it was also very hard

did it have six legs or eight?
if it has six legs then you could be looking at a bedbug infestation.
if it has eight but doesn't look like a normal spider and the abdomen is swollen or even flat it is a tick.
ticks can carry a bacteria called Borrelia that causes lyme disease.
if your bite has a red ring around it the size of a quarter then you need to see a doctor immediately for the correct antibiotics. Also try and identify the insect that bit you. look it up online.
