Can a Felon Become a Realtor?

A felon cannot be given a license to operate as a realtor. The national association of realtors is clear on this “if one had conviction of a felony charge in the past they cannot practice as a realtor”. In addition, a member who is convicted of a felony charge is stripped of his license. To learn more on this visit http://www.realtor.org/

In some states, such as New York, a convicted felon cannot become a realtor because they are prohibited from acquiring a real estate license. However, they may obtain a waiver by getting a Certificate of Good Conduct or Governor’s Executive Pardon.

A felon can not become a realtor. The National Association of Realtors guidelines specifically say that no one who is convicted of a felon can hold a realtors license.
