Grapefruit is a citrus fruit which are high in Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps reduce fat and cholesterol. The body does have a saturation level for Vitamin C, however, so taking more is simply expelled instead of being effective.
Grapefruit is one of the fruit considered to have fat burning properties. Though this effect is not yet proven, many research claims that it really help burn fats. According to many reports, grapefruit works by regulating insulin levels and convert glucose into energy instead of it being stored as fat. Some people even formulated the “grapefruit diet” because of the belief that grapefruit works best in getting rid of fats in the body.
