NO!!! Never make animals sleep outside! Especially babies! That is animal cruelty! You need to love and nuture your puppy, not put it out in the cold! Get it a little puppy bed or let it sleep with you. Love your puppy. It is a baby animal that breathes, feels, sees, hears, etc. It is not some object.

It's okay to put them outside as early as 3 month's old. I would judge it by the weather, it's shelter, it's ability to have constant access to food, and clean water. I do suggest that it have it's Parvo vaccine first, because no matter where you live, there is alway's Parvo. It stay's on the ground for month's/and or year's. That's if it's going to be a large dog. I have a chihuahua, who is spoiled, and doesn't know he's a dog, and we haven't told him either, and he is alway's inside, except for his bathroom time. Good luck, whatever you decide!
Most herding or guard dogs are outside dogs. When I first got my mini Aussie as a puppy we knew right away that he was going to live outdoors based on his....potty habits. He does have a thick coat though and we keep him in the garage during winter nights when it's cold.
My dog sleeps outside...? He's a husky/wolf and sleeps outside in his kennel (the door is always open for him to roam freely around the backyard) because it's too warm in the house for him and if he gets cold he can always go in his dog igloo!(dog house in the shape of an igloo) My dog is 3 years old. I think you should wait until your dog is 2-3 years old but it depends on your dog.
