An emotional disorder that can be signaled by severe weight loss is known an Anorexia. Signs that someone may have anorexia are an obsession with dieting or food.

Depression is an emotional disorder that can be manifested by severe weight loss or failure to gain weight. Depressed people often withdraw themselves from their old routines and eventually end up neglecting their physiologic needs which includes eating and drinking.

The problem that could include emotional problems and eating habits would be anorexia. It is simply feeling of being too fat althoug he or she is very thin.
