If I quit my job because it has made me depressed and suicidal, would I be able to collect unemployment?
I just can't take this anymore.

You need to visit a doctor and have your depression and suicidal tendencies documented. Quitting your job can exclude you from unemployment. If you can't take it, start looking for another job. Jobs are scare these days.

Jobs are definitely scarce which is why I haven't left this. My wife tells me that this job has changed me in a negative way & she tells me I need to quit. I've got kids to feed & bills to pay, so easier said than done. I'm making an appointment to see a pdoc next week. Thank you for the reply.

I would be very surprised if a lawyer could prove job related depression. I'd be more surprised if you could find one to take the case. Of course in this economy a job is a job. Wait.. Was that my phone? Lighten up.

If you're hospitalized for severe anxiety, you can claim disability

Can't do that. There is a specific way one needs to get let go in order to be eligible. If I just get fired being a knucklehead, I wouldn't be eligible for it. Also, as much as I hate this job I've been here for 3 years and don't want to lose the reference. (although I'm truly not sure I would even want to list this job on my resume) Thanks for the reply.
