How Much Dramamine Can I Give My Dog?

Report as

Dramamine, a drug used to manage motion sickness in dogs, can be safely given at a maximum dose of 50 milligrams every 8 hours. It is recommended, though, to have your pet checked by a veterinarian prior to giving medications, because the proper dosage should ideally be calculated based on your pet's weight. You can give Dramine 2-4mg per (lbs)pounds and it is taken orally in tablet or liquid form. It can be used to help with nausea unrelated to motion sickness, such as that related to inner ear (vestibular) disease in dogs. Thank you unwieldyeyes! My 12 year old jack russell was recently diagnosed with vestibular disease also known as vertigo. He's been a very healthy boy up until this point. It's funny because of the internet me and my husband diagnosed him before the vet could figure out what was going on with him. We initially told him we thought it was vestibular disease and he sent us for another appointment with another vet before they confirmed what it was. Thank you for the knowledge of dosage. Do you think dramine just needs to be given only when their showing signs of the disease or rather a permanent thing?
