Why do smartphones not come with a manual?

My first smartphone ever has been the DROIDX, which didn't come with any kind of manual when I bought it. Being my first smartphone, I needed a huge learning curve and still feel like I don't know much about my phone.

lynn. I couldn't agree with you more. Go online for help! That hardly works sitting in your car (in a parking lot) trying to text your daughter. There are still features I will never use because I am too stubborn to look online. Find someone who has that same phone and pick their brain. The biggest jolt for me was not one syllable was devoted to texting. Amazing. Two years to learn typing and shorthand in high school, but zip for this! There's nothing for navigating apps, etc. You're just on your own. I kept telling myself if a 13 year old could do it, then surely, I must be able to. If you have a phone question, Ask is the right place!

Well I have noticed this too, my guess is because a lot of things are fairly simple and pretty self explanatory, but if you open up the Internet browser and look under bookmarks there might be a link to the manual. I'm not sure if that's on droids, but that's what they have on the iPhone.

Hope I helped...

I have been able to find owners' manuals on line for those rare items that are without. Just type into a search engine "owner's manual for"-and then type in the brand and model#, like "Nikon camera model# 11111", or whatever item you need the manual for. Its so frustrating to not get an owner's manual when we buy something electronic!
