How do you get a felony dwi off your background check for employment purposes?

I have been unemployed for 3 years now not from lack of searching for a job. I decided to change careers and go into Life and Health Insurance, well I completed the course and found out that I couldn't take the NYS exam because I have a felony DWI or DUI. Been clean for 5 years, been through counseling and have had my license back for 2 years now. How do I get this off my background check?

Company policies can be a beeeeoch
I tried to resolve all my issues from long ago to re apply to a company after the 7 years I was told to wait to re apply. I turned myself in for an old bench warrant, and had my record cleared. Still no job for me there, because they know I was on the lamb. It's still in my file from a previous background check resulting in termination.

Contact an attorney, most have free initial consultation. That will let you know if you may be eligible for an expungement after a certain # of years. If so, you can represent yourself by motioning your local court for a hearing..... Plan B is you may bleed the system that put you in this position by utilizing welfare, food stamps and a vast network of charities. Next time out for a few, take a taxi. Twenty bucks vs 12 thousand is a wise investment. Good luck, sounds like you need this behind you! By the way, get the money back for the course. They cannot put you through to course completion. Don't forget to report them to a watchdog agency for fraud!

Unfortunately true for almost all cases. The most ironic thing is that "every" felony may be expunged, but with DWI and DUI, a careful criteria needs to be enforced. For that we can thank the Madd Mothers.... In my state .08%, is the legal limit, and heavily enforced. But the ones who do the most damage on our roads are cellphone users, the confused elderly, and those who fall asleep due to exhaustion. By the way, If you are a female and show off a hot pair of legs, your chance of getting let go by the officer is usually very good, because most of them are ruled by power hunger and hormones.

I don't believe you can have a felony removed from your record. explain to the company that you have gone through counseling and have been clean for so long. however, most companies do not hire people who have committed a felony. best of luck to you.
