Dear HallieMay,

Once when I had that awful feeling of not enough air in my lungs, an ER nurse convinced me to come in.

Well, I am one of those people who lives life a little bit over the top and quite nervous. The sharp intern discerned this, and suggested I try breathing into a paper bag. And it helped!

Apparently when you are nervous you breathe fast and get too much oxygen which (paradoxically) makes your lungs feel like not enough air. But when you breathe into the paper sack for a while, less oxygen gets into your lungs.

So if you like, give the paper bag a try with some calming music maybe, and a glass of warm milk...see if you feel better...

I would trust your grandmother, just keep her informed of your symptoms. You may just be catching something like a sore throat. Drink plenty of water and get some rest.

A chiropractor may help, but for any breathing problems you should consult a doctor immediately. I do not go to doctors, but respiratory is emergency.

If you're grandma is senile go to a dr. If you think you could be a hypochondriac just relax and if you actually do start feeling worse go to dr/er.
