There is no medical evidence that it is safe to give your pooch Pepto Bismol. You really will need to get in touch with your veterinarian and ask his or her opinion on giving your dog human medications.
Pepto Bismol should not be given to your dog unless a vet advises you to. The dosage is 0.5-1ml of liquid Pepto Bismol per pound of weight 6-8 hours. The tablets are easier to measure out and use for the dog. The tablet is equal to ¼ tablet per 20 pounds of weight and is also given every 6-8 hours.
Veterinarians say that Pepto Bismol can be given to a dog. How much you administer depends on the weight of the dog. For a dog under 20 pounds, you can give it 1/2 teaspoon. For a dog that is 20-40 pounds, it can have a full teaspoon. You can add or subtract on the dosage depending on your dog's weight.
