Is the earth gonna end in 2012 my mom seems to think it will?

I've lost count of the doomsday stories.

Once I was booked for not wearing a seatbelt. I didn't make a big fuss and was chatting with the cop who said, "I'd advise you not to pay the fine before Wednesday. I heard on the radio that the world is going to end on Tuesday."

On another occasion I was playing correspondence chess with a guy in another Australian city. It was in those days when you put your moves in an envelope, put a stamp on it, and dropped it in a mail box. There was a doomsday scare at that time, too, and the guy wrote back to say that he'd spent the whole of the fatal day sitting on his roof in a rowboat. He said he wanted to be the first man in history to catch a shark 50 feet over Adelaide.

No, danee, your mom is wrong. The Mayan calendar might end in 2012 but this old world will still be turning -- and most of us will still be turning with it.

I doubt it, just in case, though, I'm planning on staying home those days, because I'm predicting people will act crazy.

People ask this question nearly every day on this site. The answer is always the same. Nobody knows when the world will end. It has been predicted by thousands of people for thousands of years. Hundreds if not thousands of dates have come and gone and this old world just keeps spinning.

Only God knows that answer. Some proof is they thought the world was going to end in 2000 and it didn't it was completely normal. Thats a mayan theory so unless you are mayan you shouldn't believe in that, its just silly nonsense.

Even Jesus stated that no one will know when the world will end but God the Father ONLY! Even Jesus (God the Son) nor the angels in heaven know when the world will end. There's been passed predicted "endings" that NEVER HAPPENED: 1975, 1984, 2000...just to name a few from my generation.

The Earth will not end in 2012 (December 21). In fact, no one will know when the world is going to end, according to the Bible. And I wouldn't believe these people anyway because it seems to me that they are just putting random dates out there to scare people. Did you notice that they said the same thing in 1984, 2000, AND on May 21 of 2011. Everyone believed them and they all started going insane, but when 6 o'clock came what happened? Nothing. That is why I don't believe ANYTHING these crazy a** people say.
