Modifiable risk factors are those that are within the person's power to control or modify. For example bad diet in relation to quality of life is a modifiable risk factor. One can choose to eat foods that are low-salt , low-cholesterol, rich in fish, vegetables and fruits thereby reducing the risk of getting ill with cardiovascular diseases. Smoking and drinking, or lifestyle in general , are also examples of modifiable risk factors.
