Rednecks are proud of who they are. Its a lifestyle of choice Some Are educated. They are more contented with their lives than east coast snobs or California sun people Hillbillies just don't know any better. They are generally located in West Virginia,Kentucky ,Tenn, or Arkansas Hope that helps
Redneck are generally the countriest of all southern folk - and proud of their heritage. While it can be used as a derogatory term by some real rednecks don't care what other people outside their community think. Hill Billies are a sect of the Redneck community who generally come from the Appalachia region and have a southern twang unique to themselves just like creole rednecks down in Louisiana. All in all they are country folk, with good natures but don't tick them off or you'll hear their rebel yell! Remember they succeeded from the Union over their way of life being infringed upon and many still have not gotten over that war.
WOW how far off you all are. rednecks are loud show-offs that work hard and provide for their family... A Hillbilly is a mountain loving peaceful keep to their self help their neighbors kind of folk.. I am a hillbilly from West Virginia. I am educated and love my mountains.
Being a hillbilly is a way of life, not a choice. It's how you are, not what you pretend to be. A hillbilly buys an old truck and runs it till it's dead, while a redneck buys a big shiny truck just to cruise around town. A hillbilly flies the american flag like a patriot, not at all like the redneck who flies a confederate flag without knowing at all what it signifies. A hillbilly maintains the land; while a redneck abuses it for pleasure or profit. A hillbilly knows what they know, and that's enough unless it isn't enough -- a redneck pretends to be less intelligent than they are to portray the 'folksy' act. Hillbillies drink whatever gets you there, while rednecks drink 'those fancy waters' like bud light.
Ya'll talking bout them like they are stereotypes as seen from an outside perspective.. don't know a thing about 'em.
