Why does my JVC home stereo turn off by itself 5 secs after i turn it on?

i have a JVC home stereo system and when i turn it on, it turns itself back off 5 sec later?

If you are using a remote, there could be a delay in receiving the instruction to turn on, so you hold the 'on/off' button on just a little longer than you should.

By the time the thing gets thru the power up sequence, it notices a buffered request to power off. My PVR does this all the time.

There could be a couple of different reasons why your JVC home stereo system is shutting off by its self shortly after you turn it back on, it could be blowing a fuse because of the power it requires. It could also have a short in it.

It could be a thermal relay that's shutting it down. Improper ventilation or a broken fan could be the culprit or the relay just went bad. Need more info to troubleshoot properly. Does it happen every time or does it turn one once in a while then turn off?
