No way. Way to young. I got my first phone when I was 12. She really has no use for it. When she does get her first phone, I would say 11 or 12. And start out basic. But definitely not at 5 years old. :)
I really dont think u should...i didnt get my first phone till i was 10...my lil cuzen got one wen she was about 5 and she turned out to be kinda a brat...plus shes about 11 now and se been through literally about 25 phones because she wasnt at a responsible age to have a phone

Nope she's totally at the right age for a phone. You better get her one because all her friends at school are probably doing it. You know texting during class and all that stuff, checking their Facebook, playing angry birds.... Yeah.
Say no she has to accept it because she is way to young I got mine when I was 11!and I think even at that age I was to young...anyways if she did get that who would she call because I don't know much 5 year olds with phones...get her an iPod or and iPad or something similar but not a phone she has to understand anyways

5 years olds now days play iPad, iPod, Wii game sys. , know how to answer home phones, type I'm words on the YouTube etc. she is close. Maybe you can and teach her how to call you with her phone and teach her basics. I really don't see it wrong. Why not? also if there are emergencies where you are unable to call, she can!

No, she is five, she won't take proper care of it, and you will be paying a bill for a phone that she doesn't even know how to text on. She would use it for all the wrong purposes. Get an iPod touch at least, exactly the same as an iPhone, but no bill, just solely for music and game apps. A phone for a five year old is outrageously absurd! Also, iPhone screens crack like no other, I dropped my iPod touch 2 feet from the tile floor. Bam. Shattered. From two feet off the ground, no exaggeration. Good luck letting a five year old have her very own!
She is too young. Children of that age should not even be able to talk on the phone without supervision. She would not have the judgment skills to know who not to talk to. Maybe she would think it was fun to just dial a random number and you never know who's on the other end?
Who would she call?? Dora?? Barney?? If she just wants it for the apps then get an iPod touch for you and let her use it occasionally. Don't buy it for her, because 5 year olds are very immature and not responsible so of she breaks it or looses it or whatever, than your out 200+ dollars. If she wants to listen to music go to target or something and get her a $10 mp3 player.
Kids don't know where the money comes from, they just know mom or dad will get it for them. I could never get one of my kids anything that expensive, they wouldn't know the actual value of it and how it was earned. When they do finally learn how money works, they will actually appreciate what they have work for. I say don't do it even at 13 or 14.
OH MY GOD!!!! are you being serious here??????????? I didn't get my own phone until i was 13. yeah, i think 13 is a good age for a phone, because of the highschool starting and everything. but not 5. 5 is too young. she wouldn't understand how much value it has and would probably break it within the first 5 minutes. i'm not dissing your daughter or anything, but little kids don't really have a clue.
No, I think she is WAY too young to have a phone in the first place. Besides, who is she going to call? Is she going to play with it? She can use your iPhone if you are comfortable with her playing games on it. Besides, she should be getting more sleep and playing. When I was 5, the iPhone wasn't invented yet but I sure played a lot of games and enjoyed my childhood.
no i dont think you should if she wants something to play games on then get her and ipod touch or a ds. giveing her a phone is a bad idea because she wont use it and you will have to pay for something thats not being used. so no i dont think its a good ideea.
