Time is a mental construct (pattern of understanding) developed by humans to relate events in terms of past, present and future. Animals do not possess the same ability to order events in their minds. Animals experience what is happening now. If animals appear to be doing the same things at specific times of the day, this is due to cues given by their owners. Humans provide many verbal and non-verbal signs for what to expect. Animals are very adept at reocognizing these signs and behave in predictable ways. This can give the impression that animals are doing specific things at specific times of the day.
