I was compelled to join this site just to be able to answer your question and give you another perspective. Yes it is true, however the majority of people buy into the ideas expressed by Sharpbeam which prevents what they want from coming into their lives as they believe they can't have it. What you want does want you but you have to have faith/trust in the universe, relax, and allow it into your life. It will be delivered in ways you would never even have imagined but as long as you're trying to "control" the way it's delivered to you you lack trust....which means you don't really believe you can have it, hence you can't. Relax, enjoy and allow. Have fun in your life, focus on all the good you have in the present, and give it time. You'll be amazed as the things that you've wanted begin to show up in your life. I believe Franz Kafka said it best:
"You need not do anything. Remain sitting at your table and listen. You need not even listen, just wait. You need not even wait, just learn to be quiet, still, and solitary. And the world will freely offer itself to you unmasked. It has no choice, it will roll in ectasy at your feet."
No, it isn't true if you want something, it wants you. Most people want what they can't have rather it be materialistic things or other people. We want many things but it doesn't always work out. For example, it takes two people to want each other. Just one person wanting it can't make the other feel the same.
