My 13 year old daughter has a temp of 102.9 how long before i take her to er

i have given her fever reducers cold meds and fluids

When it isn't a young child, it is not as crucial to get her to the emergency room.
But I would suggest it, if it's going up at all or not going down.

Better safe than sorry, she is not an adult yet.

Give it about an hour and a half, and if her temp still hasn't improved, go ahead and take her

Have you given her Motrin or a similar medication? If you have and it's still not going down, then you need to take her.

Running a fever is not necessarily bad. Your body temperature increases when sick because it is trying to fight off the bugs. High temperatures help kill bugs. If her fever goes up and does not come down then you should take her to ER.

It's probably just the flu or something and will pass with time. Fever reducers won't actually make her better, but they might make her more comfortable. If you are really worried, call her doctor.

Try a cool bath to see if fever will drop. Normally for children once temp is over 103 you should be concerned or if fever accompanied by vomiting. A fever that high indicates the body is fighting to reduce infection. Keep monitoring it and if still the same then call your doctor or take her to after hour clinic.

Give her a cold bath. Don't worry too much because she's not a child.
