The number one goal in customer service is to assist the customer and acknowledge all their concerns. Regardless of the size of the purchase the customer should walk away from the sale feeling like they just made the best purchase for them, not for your wallet. Too many times I have seen customer service reps trying to sell the customer the highest priced item and NOT what the customer asked for. Me personally, I prefer to make a little less commission and let the customer feel like they got exactly what they wanted. This is because in the end that customer is going to walk away feeling good. They will tell their friends about this and their friends will come in and I will make more money that way. That's what good customer service is all about, putting the customer first.
