John Amos, notoriously known for his role as James Evans Sr on Good times, left the show in 1976. Due to disputes with scripts and producers, he was fired after only the third season.

John Amos didn't actually leave the show Good Times. John Amos was fired for being "a disruptive factor" on the show.

he left because jj was getting paid more than him because jj is the star of the show that what i personal think
