My mom passed away who gets her car me and my brother both have to sign to sell it why

my brother has my moms car she passed away in order for him to sell it i have to sign a paper why is that does it mean its half mine when he sells it

Well this depends on whether the car was in his name also or did your mother leave the car to both of you? If your mom and your brother both registered the car then yes he has half of the car and if your mom left the car to the both of you in her will, then yes also it is half his. Both of you are required to sign the paperwork when signing the car over. This also means that you both split the money that you made by selling the car.

By Law anything sold after a death has to be equally divided between surviving heirs. Dont say how old you are but you probably need to have an attorney look into this.
