Do dolphin fish have scales?

Report as

Littlebyte99 is correct unless you are talking about the dolphinfish sometimes known as mahi-mahi or dorado. It is a fish, not a mammal, and is usually sold in the USA as mahi-mahi to avoid confusion with the dolphin that is a mammal. When most people hear the word dolphin they are thinking of the mammal, but since you specifically said dolphin fish it is hard to know if you were asking about the mammal, the fish, or if you are like most people who don't know the difference.

Dolphins are marine animals or mammals, and have lungs not gills, have no scales but have a thick skin that is sloughed off and new skin replaced within several hours. They give birth to live young.
