How do i get urine odor out of mattress?

my mother passed away and I inherited her sleep number bed. Toward the end, she was ill and somewhat incontinent. How do I remove the urine odor?

Gently blot the urine with paper towels as soon as possible. Do not press or rub the paper towels over the urine, or it will seep deep into the mattress.

2
Sprinkle baking soda over the urine stain. The baking soda will pull out any excess moisture and absorb odor.

3
Allow the baking soda to sit for one hour. Vacuum up the baking soda completely.

4
Combine two parts vinegar with one part water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray the urine stain. Scrub the stain with a clean cloth to remove the odor. Do not saturate the area with the solution, or it will take a long time to dry.

5
Place the mattress outside in the sunlight. Find an area with direct sunlight to disinfect and dry the mattress naturally. If you are unable to place the mattress outside, place a fan in front of the mattress to accelerate the drying process.

If the odor still persists, try Febreze. It works really well.

If you would like to try and remove urine smells from mattresses, there are a couple of things that you can try. You can use laundry detergent or dish soap. You can also use vinegar.
