In my opinion, I will recommend a MacBook Pro laptop. It features a 2.4GHZ Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.5 GHZ which allow it to perform up to twice as fast as the previous generation.
Well the Mac itself is more for artsy, design work while the other three are PCs, which are designed for more engineering, mathematical work. But in my opinion go with a Dell they are cheaper but just as good as the other PCs out there.

BRO LISTEN TO ME, A $900-1200 MAC OR DELL ISN'T WORTH IT GO AND BUY PARTS AND GO TO BEST-BUY AND HAVE THEM BUILD YOU A CUSTOM GAMING RIG IT'LL BE WAY BETTER YOU CAN UPGRADE IT TO WHATEVER WAY OR WANT YOU COULD DESIRE IN FUTURE UPGRADES.<< MAC IS OK, GO FOR LINUX WITH THE MAC IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT, ORRR GO FOR A NEW DELL, DELLS & MAC'S ARE GOOD IMO, TOSHIBA AND HP ARE BAD...
A Mac may cost you twice the price as a PC but it'll last you a longer time, run faster, be less susceptible to viruses, and it has a far superior operating system. I purchased a used Mac for $1,000 my husband a Toshiba for $500. He hates his computer and can't wait to buy a new one. I love mine and plan on using it many years to come.
It's hard to tell, unless you say how much are you willing to spend on it and are you familliar with Mac software. I would say - buy Mac, but then again - are you willing to pay the highest price for it, because Macs are the most expensive computers. Apart from Mac I would recommend Dell. I have been working with those for 10 years, with different models. All I can say - very reliable and considerably cheap.
