The American victory at the Battle of Saratoga was a turning point in the war because it breathed new life into a downtrodden military. The Americans had faced many defeats against the British and morale was extremely low. The Saratoga victory changed this and gave the Americans hope. At the Battle of Saratoga, France lent military support to America in order to defeat Britain. This defeat eventually lead to a Patriot victory.
