I would like to know the name of a t.v show that I saw in 1999?

There is a show that I saw on t.v in the late 90's and the the early 2000"s. There was a man and a film crew and they would hitchhike across the U.S. The drivers would pick them up and the host would interview the drivers and the persons in the car.
I want to say this show was on Bravo or A&E t.v networks. Does anyone know the name of this show? It was a really interesting show, and I believe it won some awards.

Are you sure this program wasn't called Hitchhikers? It was actually shown on A&E but it wasn't shown during the time frame you've named. Look on Imdb.com you can search by plot.

It was more of a reality show. There were no actors in the show that I have described. This guy would hitchhike and was picked up my every day people. This was not a t.v. drama show it was more of a documentary. Thanks Houston..
