For really good advice on caring for, and learning to love your curls, go to www.naturallycurly.com --it's a really great group of "Curlies" (as they refer to ladies with curly hair) who can help you learn to love your curls. I found them about a year ago, and I'm so glad I did! Also, there's a terrific book out there: "Curly Girl: the Handbook", by Lorraine Massey and Michele Bender. It's available as a regular book, as well as in eBook format, and it comes with a DVD (in the case of the regular book), or with built-in videos (in the eBook). And, by the way, regular shampoo is a Curly Girl's worst enemy. it contains the same sort of detergents as are found in dishwashing soap! Regular shampoo strips curly hair, removing the natural oils, rendering it wild, frizzy, and unmanageable. Look for shampoos which contain NO sulfates, sulfites, sulfanates, or silicones (look for ingredient names which end in "cone", it's a silicone derivative. Many of the big name companies now make curl-friendly shampoos and conditioners, Pantene and Garnier both have such formulations.

To tame down your curly hair, shampoo your hair, then, you comb the hair and rinse it off. You could also part your hair and rub some conditioner on it. Check more details on http://www.wikihow.com/Tame-Naturally-Curly-Hair.
