One great way to test if your spark plugs are bad is to run your car at night and look under the hood. If you see spark shooting from your spark plug wires and other cables running from the ground then chances are you need new spark plug wires. You can also look at the ends to see if they are worn, frayed or discolored.

There are a lot of signs that can indicate bad spark plug wires. Some signs are: rough engine idle, engine miss, engine hesitation and reduced engine power.
