This would have to be a personal opinion for anyone that you ask. Remember we all believe in different things. I myself do believe that Donald Trump does have what it takes to be a world leader and that he is a very smart man and not afraid to stand up to what he believes in the face of adversity. He has great business and money experience and does watch over what is going on in other countries. First we have to see who is going to run!
He'd do everything he could to run the country like a business (which is just what it needs) and I would vote for him in a heartbeat. But, as President Obama and any newly elected official finds out is that there are things they can and cannot do once in office (the government has rules just as a private company does). Politicians routinely make campaign promises (most in good faith of actually carrying through with them) but once in office they find they simply cannot be done. I really do hope that Donald Trump runs for President. We need him badly.
I think that running the country like a business may help greatly. I also suggest that in order to help it even more, since Trump already has more money than all the people in my small town combined, that he should not require his salary. He should offer to have that exact amount used to directly offset some fund that will directly help the regular middle to lower class American that is responsible for voting him into office. Those people are also the ones most directly responsible for spending in our economy. They pay more interest on loans and have more children needing loans for college than the upper class and the rich. We are the ones who need a bailout. If that bailout money had been given to the average homeowners in America with rules on the use of the funds. We, as consumers, could have paid off our mortgages, and auto loans, or purchased a new home when situation was such. This in turn would have bailed out the banks, repaired our credit, gave the real estate industry a jump start, and created better economical stimulus on the local level. PPl would have been able to save or repair their credit scores, and therefore been eligible for further spending to purchase newer vehicles which would have help to simulate that market and help the big auto makers with their financial crisis as well. A true business man like Trump would have seen and understood this solution and implementing it on some level would have been for better for our country in the recession than the way it was handled by our current administration.
For everyone who does believe that a good businessman can run the country effectively: recall, if you will, the self made billionaire, Ross Perot. Not only would his business plan have cut the deficit in half; he even said he would take the job for free. Problem was, as an Independent, he didn't stand a chance in partisan politics, no matter how awesome a candidate he was. Trump will have to ally with one of the two great evils already bleeding the country dry. Will he make a great president, short answer yes... as long as he can get elected without selling his soul.
I do not think that Trump would make a great president. True, he is a shrewd business man. And he has squashed allot of people on the way to the top. But I think he is too much "about himself." In my opinion "the Donald" is an Egomaniac to be a leader of our country. He believes that the sun rises and sets on him. Even people like Carl Rove does not believe that Trump would help the cause of his party.
I personally think that Trump is doing this to promote the ratings of his failing Celebrity Apprentice "reality" show. As I recall, he even indicated that he will announce his intention on the shows final segment.
In the meantime, Trump gets to bask in the lime light of his own sense of self importance. I don't know of anyone so enamored with himself. One thing for sure, you do not want to get on "the Donald's" wrong side. If you do, you WILL BE FIRED!"

Donald Trump is an EXCELLENT business man, he's excellent with money yes, but there's much more than that when it comes to presidency. How is he with politics? I don't think Donald Trump would be a good president. The country has always been ran like a business, that's nothing new, but the country doesn't really need to be ran like a business. I mean, look at where that has gotten us today. Taxes, gas prices, jobs, all of that is business and people don't seem too happy about that now. America has been in debt for YEARS, we're in billions and billions of dollars worth of debt. Even though Donald Trump is a good business man, there's no way he can get us out of our debt. There's no way any man can get us out of all our debt. We're not going to see a major change anytime soon. Idk why people expect to see a major change so soon.
I totally agree with Katrinka's previous answer!! One way his money would benefit him is he would not have to be swayed by lobbyists, unions, PAC groups, foreign countries and other entities that throw lots of money toward candidates. Let's see who the nominee is. If it is Mr. Trump... he will have my vote.
"The Donald" is famous for being famous. If it wasn't for his money, this discussion wouldn't even be taking place right now, and he still wouldn't be qualified to run for President. He is however, qualified to pay tons of alimony, get married 10 or 20 more times in his life, and maybe have 2 or 3 more silver-spooned tarts like his oldest daughter. But that's about it....don't quit your day job Donnie boy.

gorgeousv: I don't know what other people have heard about how Donald Trump will handle things if elected in office but all I've heard from him is how he is busy disputing whether President Obama is a legal citizen by disputing where he was born. If that is all that is a concern to him then Lord Help Us in relying on him as our future leader. He needs to go somewhere and sit down and let the qualified prospects handle office.!!
I really wouldn't want him to lead us in foreign affairs. I don't believe the man has the right stuff. And in domestic affairs, he would fare no better than any other President because of Congress and the Senate. It's easy to say what you want to do but getting it done is another story. He hasn't shown what he's made of other than shooting off his mouth. This isn't a reality TV show, it's the lives of all Americans and I'm not ready to take that kind of a chance.
I think Mr. trump is very qualified. I like his stance to get our businesses out of China and back here in the USA. Employ Americans. Quit supporting China. He also has many great ideas on how to get oil prices back in line. We need a strong businessman attitude, in my opinion, to turn the economy back around.
