Adam and Eve's children went to different places of the world, and spread out like God asked them to. The climate is different, which the adapted to. If there is sun, you get tan, and if there is no sun, you are pale. You adapt to the climate, which changes their pigment in their skin.
You can't say we didn't come from Adam and Eve because there is some people's belief. It's in their religion. They were taught that we came from Adam and Eve. Some people think it was science. You can't change a persons beliefs.
There are two different ways of thinking about this. Some people believe that Adam and Eve had children who spread out and had children of their own in different countries. However, others believe that after God made Adam and Eve, he made other people as well Adama and Eve and that they were of different gene pools. If you notice, in the Bible it says that Cain left his parents and then found a wife, so I'm in favor of the second opinion because if it had been his sister who he was marrying, he would have married before he left. But all we can do is think about it and decide ourselves.
You cannot say that peoples religions do not exist. You have no place to say that. Besides I find it hard to believe the big bang theory I mean this "big bang" that comes from nothing isn't exactly realistic either. Something doesn't come from nothing
So many trollers. According to the Bible...The Tower of Babel, when all the people of the spoke the same language, they decided to try and build a tower to God. God struck them down and confused their language, so they all wandered around until they found others who spoke like them and went off to all directions of the world.
I've read some of the comments in this thread, and have seen some of the most uneducated responses I've ever seen on Ask.com. Races developed the same way the different species of dog, cat, or any other creature developed, Evolution, they were separated from the rest of mankind and developed traits that endured. The seat of Humanity is Africa, and after leaving people developed different races over 1000's of years.
In the bible I can remember where I'm sorry if you know someone please answer. People they were all white at the time where trying to build a building to reach heaven and hats not possible there's only one way to get into heaven and that's by being a Chritsian. So God used his magic strong powers and changed everyone so they couldn't understand each other because of their races which they all had different languages and that's how that started! Hope I helped :)
Honestly? I don't think the bible has an answer here, at least not when taken literally. The bible does not mention race per se, so who's to say that Adam and Eve weren't dark-skinned? Discussions about the bible aside, we did come from one people-- specifically one woman-- and she was most likely African: http://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/life/evolution/female-ancestor.htm . As to skin color, I'll leave that for another time <3
Adam an eve were not their names. They were the words used in mention of mankind (Adam), and womankind (Eve), which were all formed after being created on the sixth day. That is why Cain knew his wife when cast to the land of Nod. We can deduce that as false when the others tell us that there is only three people at the time residing. Cain himself reveals a truth. His mother, stepfather, and himself were not the only three people when he tells God, the people of that land will kill him. thus God places the mark etc...
According to my third grade teacher - our race started all over again after the Flood - Noah, etc. So, Adam and Eve are out of the picture. Some think it started with Cain. But the Flood wipes out that theory.
I assume you already know this, but obviously we did not all descend from Adam and Eve. I know many students of theology, and at an academic level, even believers of the bible do not take tales such as Adam and Eve to be literal. Hopefully very soon, this common sense will be known as common sense.
I don't want to get into evolution, all I am concerned with is that God created us, and that's all you really need to know. However, people do adapt to their environments. For example, if generations of one people were out in the sun all day, they would develop darker skin. That is not necessarily evolution, just adapting to the envrionment.
Genesis 11 7th verse will begin to explain. Go to let us go down, and there confound their language that they may not understand one another's speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. (this carried people over the earth. They did evolve to adapt to there surroundings. ) This accounts for the different languages of people and there appearance.
When human kind started building the tower to reach the Heavens. God knew that we would never be able to reach him with a tower. So he split the languages, cultures, and made races to confuse people and they grouped up and went there ways in separate directions. 8)
Allow me to give a Biblical and genetic perspective. There is only one race in the truest sense; that is, the human race, according to the Bible. How many problems could be resolved if we would understand that. We came from common ancestors and all are created in the image of God. Quite a high calling. I much prefer that to thinking I am a random meaningless process with no real purpose but to survive and die. Anyway, let's consider the genetics. Scientists say that the difference between any two people on earth is only 0.2%, genetically. So, the things we see outwardly as differences (eye shape, skin color, etc.) are really trivial. Our culture has blown the differences out of proportion. Yes, the scattering of the human race after the Tower of Babel resulted in separation by language groups, which led to different "people groups." People intermarried within a limited gene pool. The Bible says that God so loved the whole world that He gave His only Son; that whosoever believes (trusts, commits) in Him will have everlasting life. God is God of the entire human race. He love and mercy are not restricted and neither should ours.

The Bible's account on creation is very simple and brief; so it really does not give a specific answer to that question. However, the Bible does say (Gen. 1:27) that we come from Adam and Eve. What has science proven in regards to mankind's ancestry? Some scientists have concluded: "The anatomy of persons of all races is the same; they all have the same protein structure and all the same ancestors".Anthropologist Dr. Georg Glowatzki. "All the peoples of the earth are a single family and have a common origin".The Races of Mankind. If you read recent research on DNA you would certainly conclude that God created us with great room for variation. If you observe God's creation you see this variation everywhere: animals, flowers and so forth. When you read about the amazing way our body works you cannot help but conclude that the one who created us is very creative and powerful. When you paint your home or decorate your room, do you use the same colors and exact same decorations? No, it is therefore obvious that God intended for mankind to be varied within his limits; we might have different features and be different in color or size but we never stop being humans.

Maybe it didn't say because the group of multiple scholars, ie Luke, John, at the time when they wrote these stories had know knowledge of the existence of other people and races in other countries. Not to mention the slew of fallacies of DINO proportions that were left out. LOL don't you just love how uneducated self indulging religious types that are mildly educated try to spout off that (scientist found A+C= the bible is correct god wins. When no self respecting reputable scientist would agree with there alleged quotation. Gosh darn I guess when is did that whole Tower of Babel thing he decided to make the other people and other races to have different religious beliefs as well. You know Jesus loves a good story, and reincarnation as a raptor a cockroach is among is favorite stories. LOL hmmm maybe everyone else isn't the "anointed" ones LOL thats why they were given the religious beliefs that send them to he'll for all eternity,to burn and suffer in agonizing torture, poor and unfortunate Hindu and Muslim children. Ask you self this would you want or would such a heartless GOD even be worth worshipping.
